Millet, once ‘Poor man’s food,’ is now recognized for its health benefits and sustainability & to celebrate its recognition, DAV Public School, New Panvel conducted an activity of preparing food using millets on 18th January 2025, with great enthusiasm. The students from Grades VI- VII had brought traditional food known for their dietary diversity, which was followed by an exhibition of eye catching decoration of variety of cuisine presented with great zeal and hygiene, emphasising the theme of ensuring good health and well-being. The creativity and innovation displayed by the students was commendable.
The activity not only educated students about the nutrition powerhouse, Millet, which boasts raised levels of dietary fibre, protein, vitamins, and minerals but also it’s benefit as antioxidant. Besides these, it developed the tongue of the participants for adding millets in their daily diet.
Overall the desired objective of the Activity was successfully achieved.
