Rocket Fluent Reader

D.A.V Public School, New Panvel always thrives to cater to the all-round development of their students. The main focus of the school has always been on improving the spoken English Skills amongst the students. With this objective, as a part of monthly activity of the curriculum, an Inter House Fastest Reading Competition-Rocket Fluent Reader was organised for the Students of Class XI and XII on Saturday, 31^st August 2024, 6^th & 7^th period in the School Multipurpose Hall.

The event witnesses 23 enthusiastic students’ participants from std XI and XII. The competition was graced with the presence of Principal Sri Sumant Ghosh, Sr. Sec Supervisory Head, Mrs. Sridevi Pillai, a panel of two expert judges, Mrs. Diksha Madhok and Mr. Prabhu Kallappa Kademani. The participants were given 30 seconds viewing time and one minute reading time of the content. Indeed students showcased their reading skills with excellent pace of reading with proper voice modulation, accuracy of pronunciation and articulation and volume of reading. The winner of the competition were:

1. Darshit Chaturvedi (Takshashila House)- XIC – First Position
2. Arunima Giri (Ujjain House) – XIID – Second Position
3. Tushar Sharma (Ujjain House – XIIB- Third Position

The competition concluded successfully with the insightful words of encouragement and appreciation from the judges and Sr. Sec. Supervisory Head-Ms. Sreedevi Pillai. Not only they appreciated participants but also gave optimistic message to all students so that everyone should participate in such events which will surely help to build up their self-confidence and develop their soft skills to bring out potential as an effective public speaker.
