VISION-SELF DEFENCE FOR GIRLS
D.A.V Public School, New Panvel observed ‘Self Defense for Girls’ training under the able guidance of honourable Principal sir.It was led by Mr. Dinesh Padaya, it showcased different techniques to combat oneself in a critical situation. This took place on the event of National Sports Day. We celebrate Sports day in honor of Major Dhyanchand. The event commenced with D.A.V New Panvel’s Sports Captain, Diya Mokal giving Pratima Poojan of Major Dhyanchand. Followed by Diya Mokal was Tanmay Bhagat, our Sports Captain who set great intentions and paid homage to great sports personalities through his speech. The Senior Secondary Supervisory Head, Shreedevi ma’am then led an inspirational and heartfelt speech to the girls of the school. Later in the morning a holy and pristine ritual of Havan took place for the students participating the DAV Zonals. The session commenced with 7 dan black belt, Master Dinesh Sir identifying the different stances of danger one can be put in and gave resourceful tips and techniques of self defense. Followed by Dinesh Sir, Zeya ma’am, Akshay sir, Yash sir demonstrated the techniques to the students for their better understanding. Our alumni and a national gold medalist Lavanya ma’am who was Under Dinesh sir’s team and our former sports captain Kartik Mishra graced the occasion. Day 1 of this two-day event consisted of class 6th, 7th and 8th. Day 2 commenced with the girls of senior secondary practicing self-defense followed by the girls of 9th and 10th. The sessions were extremely immersive. This event closed its curtains with Diya Mokal giving out a heartfelt vote of gratitude to our Principal Mr. Sumanth Ghosh and The Taekwondo team. This event was very resourceful.
