International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day was celebrated at DAV Public School, New Panvel on Sunday, 21st June 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and teachers in school Multipurpose Hall. The programme was organized in the Multipurpose Hall in the morning to promote the importance of yoga for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The celebration commenced with ceremonial lamp lighting by Principal Sir and Supervisory Heads. A bouquet was presented to Principal Sir by the Sports Department of our school. The program started with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of International Yoga Day and the benefits of practising yoga regularly. Students were informed about how yoga helps in maintaining a healthy body, reducing stress, improving concentration and leading a balanced life. The participants were guided through various yoga asanas such as Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, Vajrasana, and Pranayama by our skilled students -Yukta Gulecha, Ahilya, Aarush and Aryan. Students and teachers performed the exercises with great interest and discipline. The instructors also explained the correct techniques and health benefits of each posture.
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, NCC Cadets were felicitated by Principal Sir for their outstanding achievements in various competitions. Principal sir addressed the gathering and encouraged everyone to make yoga a part of their daily routine. The speech emphasized the role of yoga in building a healthy lifestyle and developing self-discipline among students and teachers. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. The celebration was a great success and inspired all participants to adopt yoga as a regular practice for a healthier and happier life
