It was an honour for DAV Schools in the Western Region to felicitate Acharya Devvrat ji, Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat and Maharashtra, at a special function held on 29th November 2025. The occasion was graced by the Hon’ble President, DAV College Managing Committee, Shri Punam Suri ji, who felicitated the Hon’ble Governor. The auditorium at Bhumiputra, Ulwe, was filled with teachers and well-wishers from DAV Schools across the Western Region. Acharya Devvrat ji was honoured by the DAV institutions on his assuming the responsibility of Governor of Maharashtra.

Shri Punam Suri ji, in his address, highlighted the remarkable journey of the Hon’ble Governor—his humble beginnings, his unwavering hard work, and his deep belief in perseverance. He commended the Governor’s advocacy of natural and sustainable techniques and his commitment to promoting self-reliance, calling these achievements truly inspirational.

In his address, Acharya Devvrat ji spoke about the role of educators, emphasising that children are like a clean slate and must be nurtured with care and values. He also recalled his cherished memories as a student of a DAV institute, sharing that the principles of Gurukul education—further strengthened during his tenure as the head of a Gurukul—have guided his public life and continue to inspire his service to society.
