The Opening Ceremony of Zonal Sports Tournaments 2025-26 was held on 6^th October 2025 by the host school D.A.V. Public School, New Panvel bringing together participants from Maharashtra and Gujarat (Western Zone). The honourable Principals of DAV Schools from Thane, Kharghar, Pune, Nerul and Mulund graced the ceremony. The opening ceremony began with prayer. DAV Anthem was sung mellifluously.  The chief guest hoisted DAV flag. An inspirational song was presented by the host school. This gathering was addressed by honourable A.R.O Zone C – Mrs. Simmi Juneja and A.R.O Zone A - Manager Ms. Seema Maindiratta.  The participating schools performed an impressive march past to honour the dignitaries, followed by a torch relay and oath taking ceremony. The honourable A.R.O Zone C Mrs. Simmi Juneja encouraged the students to display team spirit and exemplary performance. The cultural presentation by the host school was spellbinding. The chief guest Ms. Aishwarya Bhaskaran, Physical Education Instructor and passionate sports enthusiast addressed the gathering with her eloquent words and declared the MEET open. Students competed in Running – (100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m), Relay race, Javelin throw, High jump, Discus throw and Shot put showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship. The winning team will qualify for DAV Nationals which will be held in November month. Over the course of three days, students will compete in a range of events including team events - basketball, volleyball, handball, badminton, netball, rifle, shooting, archery etc..

The ceremony not only provided a platform for budding athletes to showcase their talent but also fostered team spirit, discipline and physical fitness among students. The event witnessed overwhelming participation and astonishing athletic sportsmanship. The first day of Zonal Level Tournament 2025-26 concluded with prize distribution ceremony for the events held today.
